Hello,
I trust that your July has been well.
Today’s letter is not one of the regulars that you're probably used to. Instead, it's a personal reflection I thought I'd share with you all.
Vulnerability is not a subject that many of us enjoy. We prefer to stay strong or act tough and not let anyone get into the flesh beneath the exterior. Life has been harder on some than others and as a result, a good chunk of us have developed hard shells as some form of defence strategy.
However, the relationship we have been called to in Christ demands everything we have, are and will be. Because of this, one of the things that God does to a man in His transformative work is to strip him. A situation where God gently removes every layer of protection he has ever built in a bid to shield himself from life's disappointments, lows and what-nots. A time where God by Himself proves to a man again and again how frail he is, and how much of Christ he needs in his daily life.
As much as we do not like to be seen as weak, there is no need to act tough with our Saviour as He sees and knows us intricately. No use holding back anything from Him. There is no point hiding our inadequacies and frailties. He wants us to be completely honest with Him every time. Even as we mature in Christ, we remain His children and should never be afraid to approach our Father in whatever state we are in. No need for shame, guilt or fear.
I pray the Lord helps us to be honest with Him daily. Amen.
