In secular education, there are various theories and hypotheses about the origin of life. From the Big Bang Theory to Darwin's Law of Evolution, many scientists, philosophers, anthropologists, and professionals in other disciplines have tried to walk their way back in time, to discover how life began on earth.
Interestingly, the Bible gives the most concise and logical answer to this quest as its first verse “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth” provides strong evidence for the start of every life form that has and will be.
Not only does Scripture tell how life came to be, it also records details of the entire process. For six days, the Triune God ensured that His creative design was revealed — plants, heaven, land, seas, animals and man were some of His handiworks, with the latter fashioned in God's image, who is the Son, and quickened through the Holy Spirit, who enables him to commune with the Father.
There are also people who believe that Jesus was absent at creation. Many portions of Scripture however refute this narrative; some which were established by Jesus Himself when He was on earth.
I and the Father are one.
John 10:30, ESV
If Jesus cannot be separated from the Father, it then means that both persons in one God have the same mind. Colossians 1:15-18 goes further to emphasize how everything was created in, through and for Him;
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.
And He is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
When this passage is considered with other biblical texts which attest to Christ as the True Vine, the Bread of Life, and the Source of Living Water, it becomes obvious that all creatures, including man, need God to survive.
Science and other fields of study, when objectively inspected, point to the existence of an omniscient God who formed this world by His power and might. Every discovery in the solar system, star in the galaxy, or process in nature displays His wonder and majestic beauty. Life indeed comes from only one source — the Trinity.
Regardless of any theories propounded about the world's origin, rest in the truth of God’s Word and believe that your life was given by the One who created the universe, and not from a giant explosion of molecules.
O Lord, how manifold are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all.
The earth is full of Your possessions— this great and wide sea, in which are innumerable teeming things,
Living things both small and great.
There the ships sail about; there is that Leviathan which You have made to play there.
These all wait for You, that You may give them their food in due season.
What You give them they gather in; You open Your hand, they are filled with good.
You hide Your face, they are troubled; You take away their breath, they die and return to their dust.
You send forth Your Spirit, they are created; and You renew the face of the earth.
Psalm 104:24-30, NKJV
