It is no news that many people wrestle with a fear of the unknown in this age. As the years go by, more nations experience wars, famine, crises, and other happenings that cause economic distress and exponential death rates. From virus and disease outbreaks, to lawlessness and a heightened disregard for His divine precepts, chaos and disorderliness have continued to increase in the world today.
In Matthew 24, Jesus Christ gave a chronological summary of events that would occur before His Second Coming. Various portions of Scripture also highlight perilous activities which shall (and already) transpire on earth in these last days.1 Given that some of such scenarios are presently manifest, it is easy to fret and lose hope for one’s future.
Nonetheless, God invites everyone to cast their cares2 on Him and not be afraid. We can be confident that He is always in control, no matter what the situation looks like, especially because God’s Word assures us of His love and promise to never leave nor forsake His children.
Rather than fixing your eyes on what the news says, or being faint-hearted as the world deteriorates, put all your trust in Jesus Christ, knowing that He steers the ship of your life as you hold and carefully walk with Him.
Rest in His arms; He will carry you through.
Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.
